Finding “deadbeat dads”, fathers who fail to provide the financial support to their children once the court has established the amount that parent has to pay, is among the most difficult problems in the area of child custody. In some cases, during a separation or divorce a father may initially provide support through an informal agreement with the mother only to later decide to withhold this support. Although the father has at least a moral responsibility to pay child support, many times, the father does not. What can be done if the father refuses to pay?
