Sprint has issued a blanket halt to their sales of the LG Rumor device. Apparently, Sprint made a boo-boo with their latest firmware update which allows for an engineer debugging menu to be accessed when navigating the main screen or making calls. When this menu is accessed, the data on the phone is wiped clean, leaving users contact and saved data-less.
Users who have experienced this problem are urged to send their phones in to Sprint to have the firmware upgraded to a working version. Once the new firmware is up and running, Sprint will eventually offer it over the air to existing customers, and will resume sales of the device when the new firmware is reinstalled.
